HIPPA

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is the single most significant Federal legislation affecting the health care industry since the creation of the Medicare and Medicaid programs in 1965. The ECC creates maps that comply to HIPAA standards for the electronic exchange of health care information and are currently engaged in HIPAA testing to help agencies meet the October 16, 2003 deadline for HIPAA compliancy.

For more information about HIPAA and the State of Ohio's HIPAA initiatives, visit HIPAAOhio.

To contact the ECC, send email to ohio.ec@exchange.state.oh.us.
