Network Maintenance: OARnet Planned Maintenance

Affected Ring or Area: Ring 2 Cleveland to Youngstown Alliance site

 

Summary of Work to be performed: OARnet optical engineers will be performing 10gigE software upgrades on Ring 2 between Cleveland and Youngstown at the Alliance site.  This will involve removing a loop plug and inserting a pair of fiber jumpers from the DCU.  There will also be a quick Metro Planner software upload.

Risk Assessment:  High traffic loss risk (6 to 15 minute outage possible)

Firewall Maintenance:

Next Scheduled Maintenance: Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Time: 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM

OIT engineers plan to make firewall configuration changes.  Short outages (less than 1 minute) are expected during the configuration change.
