IT security policies revised |

State IT security policies have been revised to reflect the latest best practices and industry trends, particularly with regard to enhanced risk management processes and security controls.
R. Steve Edmonson, director of the Office of Information Technology and state chief information officer, recently issued revisions of Ohio IT security policies. The revisions, which provide additional clarification and specificity, became effective March 19, 2008.
The policy revisions were subject to a rigorous research, review and quality control process, including a neutral, third-party independent review by IT security experts. A number of subject-matter experts within the DAS Office of Information Technology also participated in the development and review process, including the state chief privacy officer.
