Presentation: Compliance, Content Management and E-Discovery

Presenter:  Kenneth Chin, Vice President, Gartner Research

Good compliance depends on proper retention of business records.  But how can content management help organizations manage critical documents?  Learn how to develop records management and digital preservation strategies so that critical business records are retrievable.  This session will help you assess the different processes and technologies for managing paper records, electronic documents, and e-mail throughout their lifecycle.
                    
Key Issues:         

  • How should electronic records management and e-mail retention policy be formulated, and who should be involved?
  • Why and how should IT be involved in records management programs, e-discovery processes and compliance efforts?
  • How does e-mail archiving address operational efficiency, discovery and compliance?
  • What are the best practices for implementing records management and digital preservation of content?

Kenneth Chin is a research vice president in Gartner Research covering enterprise content management.  He is the lead analyst covering information retention management and archiving technologies and also covers a variety of content management topics, including product selection, implementation and best practices. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Chin was the worldwide director of strategic planning and business research at Eastman Kodak where he managed a global organization supporting the strategic planning, market planning, product development and merger and acquisition projects.  Mr. Chin has B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and management from the Rochester Institute of Technology and has completed postgraduate work at MIT and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
