R. Steve Edmonson, director of the Office of Information Technology and state chief information officer, recently issued Ohio IT Policy ITP-F.4, "Executive Branch Cabinet Agency Web Site Standardization,” effective on March 3, 2008.

This policy establishes Web site standards for executive branch cabinet agency Web sites. The intent of these requirements is to create a degree of consistency and predictability among public-facing Web pages while still providing executive branch cabinet agencies with the flexibility to design Web pages that fit their unique needs.

The policy was developed in collaboration with the Governor’s Office and several contributing agencies.

The policy is available online at http://www.oit.ohio.gov/IGD/policy/pdfs_policy/ITP-F.4.pdf.

A companion Web site, Redesign.Ohio.gov, provides additional resources to assist agencies with the standardization process.

State IT rules, policies, standards, procedures and bulletins are available online at www.ohio.gov/itp.
